Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has been in the news constantly over the week following his tweets in support of the release of Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. The film is facing trouble from Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), whose members have vowed to stall its release and even ransack multiplexes showing the film if need be as it stars Pakistani actor Fawad Khan.

The Bombay Velvet filmmaker has again landed himself in the centre of a controversy after his act against a female journalist on Facebook. To get a byte from him regarding the whole issue, a reporter from a Hindi news channel messaged him.

Kashyap refused to speak. When asked as to why he couldn't talk if he could post on Facebook, he said, “Never to an irresponsible, headline seeking press.” But what he did next stunned everyone. He took the screenshot of the chat and posted it on Facebook along with her number and captioned it, “This is the media outside my house when I am not there... looking for headline.”

The journalist faced severe consequences of Kashyap’s act as she started receiving a lot of calls from unknown numbers. After some time, the filmmaker removed the post. But the damage was already done.

Following this, there has been uproar against Kashyap on social media with a section of media also demanding an apology from him.
